How long is the tour?
The full tour takes approximately three hours, including exclusive entry experiences at The Court Theatre, Christ Church Cathedral and Ravenscar House Museum, plus guided narration through the city’s heritage and arts precinct.
How far will we walk?
The tour covers around 3 to 4 kilometres at a relaxed pace with frequent stops. Guests should have a good level of mobility and be comfortable walking and standing for extended periods.
Where does the tour start and finish?
The tour starts at The Court Theatre and concludes at Ravenscar House Museum. Your guide will ensure you know how to return to your next destination.
What will I see on the tour?
A behind-the-scenes experience at The Court Theatre, an inside tour of Christ Church Cathedral, a curated walk through Worcester Boulevard and the Arts Centre, viewing public artworks such as Echo and STAY and a guided tour of Ravenscar House Museum.
Do we go inside the Cathedral?
Yes. Visitors enjoy an exclusive guided experience inside Christ Church Cathedral, including commentary on its original construction, earthquake damage and restoration.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Due to Health and Safety regulations, we are not able to have children under the age of 10 on the tour whether accompanied by an adult or not.
What should I wear?
Closed Footware is mandatory to allow you to enter the Cathedral site. Wear clothing appropriate for Christchurch weather. A warm layer and wet-weather jacket are recommended.
What happens if it rains?
The tour operates in most weather conditions. If severe weather is forecast, the tour may be cancelled and guests will be offered a refund or alternative date.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, no. Customers with wheelchairs and walkers are not able to access the Christ Church Cathedral site
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Due to limited capacity at partner venues, pre-booking is essential.
How many people are on each tour?
Tours operate with a maximum of 20 guests.
Are the guides professionally trained?
All guides are trained storytellers with strong knowledge of Christchurch history and are safety-trained for the Cathedral.
Is photography allowed?
Photography is welcome along walking sections. Some restrictions may apply inside venues.
Are refreshments included?
Refreshments are not included. We recommend bringing a water bottle.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations up to 48 hours prior receive a full refund. Within 48 hours is non-refundable unless we cancel due to weather or safety reasons.
Can the tour be run privately?
Yes, we offer private tours for corporate groups, VIPs, and families. Please enquire for pricing.
